On February 28, Consul General Euy Whan Kim visited the New Jersey food manufacturing facility of CJ America, the K-food leader in the US food market, to discuss the company’s rapid growth and various challenges in the US food market. According to CJ America, the company’s total US sales reached about $100 million last year. To expand their US market share, they are developing new products, such as fried rice, seaweed, kimchi, sauce, and instant rice, to suit local tastes. CJ’s Bibigo dumplings topped the US food market, and Schwarz’s pizza, which CJ acquired, ranked second.
