Events at KCCs abroad

The Korean Cultural Center in Brazil, headed by Director Cheol-Hong Kim, identified an error regarding the labeling of the East Sea as the Sea of Japan in the 'Korea' section of UOL, a prominent portal site in Brazil. They promptly corrected this error by changing it to 'East Sea' on UOL.

The mistake was found on the 'Map of Korea', where the Cultural Center noticed that the label 'Sea of Japan' was used while Dokdo was not included.

There was a photo without an image of Dokdo and incorrectly labeled as the Sea of Japan instead of the East Sea.

After the correction, the label 'East Sea' was written, and the image of Dokdo was inserted (image provided by the Korean Cultural Center in Brazil).

Considering that UOL is a major portal site in Brazil, and since two posts with typographical errors were appearing at the top of Google search results for 'Coreia do Sul' (Korea) in the language of the country, this correction holds significant importance. UOL is also frequently used by students preparing for exams, making the impact of this correction even more noteworthy.
