Last Wednesday, on 19 July, Korean language students at the Korean Cultural Centre in South Africa held a graduation ceremony to celebrate the completion of their language courses for the term.

The ceremony was attended by about 30 students who had taken the Korean language courses from March to July. The students spent this special last day of the term with their teacher Kim Ji-young, and congratulated their classmates on their outstanding achievements.

Thu Phuong Nguyen, who won the King Sejong Institute Writing Contest this year, said in her speech, “Coincidentally enough, I heard about the opening of the Korean Cultural Centre only a few months after I and my family moved to South Africa from Vietnam. While I was attending the language courses at the Centre, I've found my passion and dream of studying the Korean language education for my career.”

The Korean Cultural Centre SA offers Korean language courses for those interested in learning Korean language in South Africa, with the regular second term set to begin at the end of July.
