To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the ROK - US Alliance, the Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (Director Sangwon Jung) and LA Dance Festival presented ‘Contemporary Dance Stories’ in the KCCLA Ari Hall (5505 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90036) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2023.

This event has been prepared in collaboration with the ING Collabo Group (Artist in Tank/Seoul International Dance Festival) who were invited by LA Dance Festival to introduce Korean contemporary dance groups. These groups participated in the Seattle International Dance Festival, then joined the LA Dance Festival. 

For this performance, there were three (3) Korean dance groups and one (1) American dance group. YSM Dance Group, led by Soo MI Yoon, who currently teaches at Dongduk Women’s University, featured <Dance, that excitement>. Project Artdock featured solo dance <Special dot>, and BrockusRED represented the LA Dance Festival team, featured <Great Beyond>. Additionally, a Korean dance film which premiered in January at the dance film festival ‘Dance Camera West’ <Anhang> by Kim Hyun Sun Dance Company.
