The 2023 “Visit Korean Heritage Campaign” (hereinafter the “Campaign”) co-hosted by the Cultural Heritage Administration (Administrator: Choi Eung-chon) and the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation (President: Choi Young-chang) is launching a new program to promote Korean culture and heritage in the United States with some much-needed assistance from the Korean Cultural Center, Los Angeles (Director: Sangwon Jung). The three-day program was held from August 16 to August 18 in Ari Hall (3F) of the LA Korean Cultural Center.
Among the available programs, the “Korean Royal Desserts at Kohojae” program gave visitors a chance to enjoy Korean traditional “Jeongjae” performances - a type of royal court performance from the Joseon Dynasty period - and try Korean royal desserts and herbal tea. The program featured flower tea and seven different types of “Byeonggwa” and “Jeonggwa” desserts, which were often served to the royal family of Joseon. It showcased the beautiful culture of Korea, including traditional art performances such as the “Chunnaengjeon” and Gayageum performances.
