The Korean Culture & Information Service (KOCIS), the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (KOFICE), the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, and the Korean Cultural Centre Canada (KCC) have partnered with various orgnisations and entities to hold a series of events under ‘Inclusive Art Week’. Part of an effort to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Korea-Canada diplomatic relations, ‘Inclusive Art Week’ aims to promote cultural exchange between both countries through the work of various artists with disabilities, as well as breaking down barriers of borders and disabilities.
1. Exhibition: <Intense Difference Of Its Own>
Created in partnership with Calgary’s National accessArts Centre (NaAC), the exhibition underscores marginalized voices, fostering a rich dialogue emblematic of the cultural and artistic values shared between Canada.
Showcased are contributions from 12 exceptional artists, including prominent figures with developmental disorders from both nations. Featured artists include Hyunwoo ‘Pixel Kim’ Kim, Michelle Bennie, Carol Harris, Brian Ehnis, and distinguished Korean Canadian sculptor, the late Won Lee.

2. <Inclusive Harmonies: A Canada-Korea Symphony>
The Korean Culture & Information Service (KOCIS) and the Korean Cultural Centre Canada (KCC), in collaboration with the National accessArt Centre will host a classical music performance featuring ArtWeCan ensemble from the Korea Culture & Arts Association for Citizens with Developmental Disabilities and Rolston Strings Quartet from Toronto on September 6th at the Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre.

3. Intense Difference Of Its Own - Artists-In-Residency

The Korean Cultural Centre is pleased to host <Ordinary workshop> run by 'Studio Ordinary' with Sean Roh and four artists with developmental disabilities as the fifth workshop of 'K-Culture: Art Workshop Series' program.
