Hilton Hotel in Brazil to Present Specially Developed Korean Menu
Korean Cultural Center in Brazil collaborates with the Hilton Hotel and the Korean Food Promotion Institute for a Korean Food Week (September 11–18) in São Paulo Hilton Hotel.
The Korean Cultural Center in Brazil (Director: Kim Cheol-hong), in collaboration with the Hilton Hotel in São Paulo, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, and the Korean Food Promotion Institute, announced that they will host the "5th Korean Food Week" event at the hotel's restaurant from September 11th to September 18th, spanning eight days.
For this 5th edition of the event, Korean chefs specializing in Korean cuisine, Chef Kang Dae-han and Chef Kim Jae-gyeom, arrived in Brazil in early September.
The chefs from Hilton Hotel in São Paulo are providing training to the dispatched Korean chefs, covering everything from basic knowledge of Korean ingredients and their preparation methods to. They are working together to develop Korean menus that will be appealing to locals during the "Korean Food Week" period.
Leading up to the event, on September 5th, a tasting event was held to introduce the dispatched chefs and present the menus that will be featured during Korean Food Week. The tasting event included traditional Korean music and K-pop performances, cocktail tastings featuring soju, and an exhibition introducing traditional Korean culture, creating a rich cultural experience for attendees.
This year, the Korean Cultural Center has planned a two-month-long, extensive promotion of Korean cuisine from September to October. The ongoing Korean Food Festival, which began on September 1st, features various programs such as the "<Korean Food: Traditional Jang and Kimchi> exhibition," "<Korean Food's History and Culture> lectures," and "<Traditional Korean Food and Trendy Korean Food> cooking classes." These programs have been met with enthusiastic participation and interest from locals. Additionally, on October 8th, a Korean culinary competition is scheduled to take place.
The Korean Cultural Center aims to expand awareness of Korean cuisine and promote Korean food culture to Brazilian citizens while also continuously cooperating with professionals in the fields of education and the food industry to meet the increasing demand for Korean cuisine within the host country.
