Events at KCCs abroad

The Korean Cultural Center Washington, D.C. (KCCDC) on September 1 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. hosted a special evening showing of the ongoing exhibition "Landscape of the Mind" and an artist talk with curators and artists of the exhibition "Han", debut show by the Korean American Artist Collective (KAAC). The event was also hosted as part of First Friday Dupont, a local community art walk event in Washington, D.C. The KCCDC participated in the event on August 4 and September 1.

Over 150 visitors streamed into the Korean Cultural Center to enjoy its extended evening hours and a light reception before the artist talk. The extended evening hours of the center provided a rare opportunity for art enthusiasts to enjoy the exhibition beyond regular weekday hours.

From 7 p.m., curators and artists Julia Chon, He-Myong Woo, and Robert Choe-Anderson gave an in-depth look at the KAAC's debut exhibition "Han," which largely covers themes of the Korean diaspora. The exhibition will be held at Culture House D.C. from September 2 to September 30. The team introduced the KAAC and then individually showcased some of their work, detailing their creative processes and the stories behind their work in the exhibition. The talk was followed by a Q&A session with the audience.
