The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles, in collaboration with LA Harbor College Culinary Arts successfully hosted the "2023 Hansik Contest(Korean Food Competition)".
On November 20th, supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Korea Food Promotion Institution, the theme of the competition was 'My own Kimchi Dish with Korean Traditional Liquor', focusing on Korea's representative fermented foods, kimchi and traditional liquor(Makgeoli). After intense competition, the grand prize went to Noeli Nunez, who made empanada dough and seasoned beef with kimchi and gochujang, presenting a kimchi slaw salad as a side dish. The winning menu from this competition will be featured as the representative menu at the LA Harbor College BISTRO next year.
