The Korean Cultural Center in Thailand and Korea Thailand Communication Center (KTCC) host 'K-Soft Power Festival 2023 in Thailand' on 25th November at 14:00 at Future Park Rangsit, Bangkok.


The event features a various cultural content of Korea and Thailand, to commemorate the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations of both countries and promote each other's soft power exchange.

The event starts with K-pop cover dance performed by 'The Stars', cover dance team has Down syndrome and Korean traditional performance, which are 'Gilnori' and 'Ginori', a Korean-style traditional parade with musical instruments and flags, wishing well being of all event participants will be featured by Korean Percussion Group 'In Phung-ryu'.

Mr. Ham, Jeonghan, Charge d'affaires of the Korean Embassy deliver an opening speech, then the joint performance of Thai traditional dance and Muay Thai performed by Bunditpatanasilpa Institute. After the stage of K-pop cover dance and Thai idol group 'XI(Exzai)', 'Yedam Y', the Korean traditional dance company performs 'Chun-aeng-mu' (Royal dance created in Joseon dynasty illustrating the nightingales singing on the branch of willow tree in the morning of spring), 'Tae-pyeong-mu' (Korean dance  wishing a great peace for country) and various traditional dances such as 'Sogo-chum' (Small drums dance), 'Jindo-buk-chum' (Drum dance), 'Jang-gu-chum' (Double-head drum dance) and 'Bu-chae-chum'(Fan dance). There will be a break dance performance expressing Hangeul, Korean Alphabet by '20th Century B-Boy' team from Korea and Taekwondo demonstration by 'Black Leopard' team.

The event is also the stage for the 'Show Your Soft Power' competition, which 15 Thai finalists compete their various talent including vocal, dance, lip sync and traditional performance. The director of the Korean Cultural Center, Mr. Cho, Jaeil will award the winner.

On 26th November, the director and the officer of the Center visits The Child Protection and Development Center (CPDC) in Pattaya to cook chicken gangjeong (Fried chicken with sweet sauce) and Bulgogi for children. Also, the Center hosts the performance, goods donation, and volunteer activities in CPDC with Jeong Art (Korean performance agency), Black leopard, Kowin Thailand, GTO, LG, Coway and Prothai.

'K-Soft Power Festival 2023 in Thailand' event is free admission, and all visitors can join to booths provide travel information to Korea, Korean food experience, on- and off-line events.

Mr. Ham, Charge d'affaires of the Korean Embassy said "There are active exchange between Korean and Thailand for last 65 years, especially human and soft power exchange in recent years. The event 'K-Soft Power Festival 2023 in Thailand' under the theme 'I love Thailand I love Korea' will be the opportunity to promote a close friendship of both countries via soft power exchange."
