Events at KCCs abroad

The Korean Cultural Center in Sweden collaborated with Asiatiska FilmFestivalen for Short Film Day 2023 to show a selection of wonderful animated short films from the Korean independent film distributor AniSEED. The program has been organized with the support of Folkets Bio and the Swedish Film Institute.

The Short Film Day concept was started in France in 2011 and has since expanded to over 20 countries across the northern hemisphere. Short Film Day first came to Sweden in 2014, and it has grown every year since, with this year’s Short Film Day the biggest yet, with sixty-eight different organizers taking part across Sweden.

Kortfilmsdagen had programs: the first, ‘Colourful Heroes,’ featured seven short films suitable for a younger audience, followed by some free time to read and draw inspired by the films. The second program, ‘Perspective,’ featured five longer short films that included a variety of themes and styles, after which refreshments from the Stockholm-based Korean restaurant Monster Chicken were served to allow the guests to stay behind and discuss the films together.
