Events at KCCs abroad

The Korean Cultural Center Washington, D.C. (KCCDC) on December 21 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. hosted a special evening showing of the exhibition "TDC 69: A Global Typography Design Exhibition." The event was hosted as part of Third Thursday Dupont, a local community art walk event in Washington, D.C. in collaboration with the Phillips Collection and IA&A at Hillyer. Over 100 visitors streamed into the Korean Cultural Center to enjoy extended hours of the exhibition along with a light reception.

TDC 69 features the latest award-winning pieces from the TDC’s annual contest while also highlighting Korean typography designs, including several current and past award-winning works by Korean artists. The exhibition serves as a gateway for audiences to explore current trends in global typography and this year to also appreciate the unique artistic features of the Korean writing system, Hangeul.

As the 69th edition of the TDC Typography Awards, this collaboration marks the beginning of a worldwide exhibition tour scheduled to travel to major cities globally after its debut at the KCCDC in Washington, D.C.
