The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (Director Sangwon Jung) hosted the ‘53rd Korean Culture Experience Workshop for LAPD’ on Thursday, February 1st, 2024 in collaboration with six LA divisions of Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) West Bureau. Since 2008, ‘The Korean American Experience Workshop’ has been held 5 times a year and more than 2,000 LA police have participated. Through this workshop, LA police officers who have been solely in charge of public security in LA County and LA City can broaden their understanding of Korean culture and immigrant society. The workshop has been evaluated to play an important role in preventing and responding to disadvantages that Koreans may receive due to cultural differences and anti-Asian racism.
