Events at KCCs abroad

On February 13th, The Korean Cultural Center organized a Korean cultural caravan to the Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Northeast Thailand.

In the morning, KCC officers Traveled to Suranaree Wittaya School and began the event with a Jindo drum dance performance By Ms. Jeon Minji, teacher of Korean folk music, for more than 150 students, Mr. Cho Jae-il, Director of the Korean Cultural Center showed his cooking skills by cooking Bulgogi and Tteokbokki for the students. There was also a workshop on Ganggangsullae(Traditional Korean circle dance play) and the basic moves of Talchum (Korean mask dance) by cultural experts Yoon Yeoju and Hong Sungyeon from "2023 King Sejong Culture Academy" for the students, and they enjoyed playing Ganggangsullae a lot.

There are various activities for students such as traditional Hanbok clothing experiences and various traditional plays (Tuho, Jegichagi).

In the evening, KCC officers Traveled to Ban Ratchasima Foster Home To feed over 70 children Korean food, the menu included Bulgogi, Korean fried chicken, and Kimbap made by KCC's director and staff. After that, there was a Jindo Arirang song and Ganggangsullae class by Korean folk music teacher Jeon Minji and culture experts Yoon Yeoju and Hong Sungyeon for the children.

The Korean Cultural Center hopes this cultural caravan will allow children in Nakhon Ratchasima Province to learn and get closer to Korean culture. The Korean Cultural Center will visit shelters in various areas in order to spread Korean culture in the future.
