The Korean Cultural Center in Hungary will present movie screenings in March with the theme ‘Independence / Korean History’. On 8 March, at 6 p.m. ‘Hero’ (영웅, 2022) will be screened. 

Synopsis: As Japanese power over Korea grows stronger in the early 1900s, Korean independence activist An Jung-geun and his comrades make a blood vow to devote themselves to the freedom of Korea. With Japanese armies on their tails, An Jung-geun devises a bold plan to assassinate Japanese General Ito Hirobumi, who’s planning to fully annex the peninsula, at Harbin railway station. Finally on the fateful day of October 26, 1909, shots are fired at Harbin.

The screening is free to attend, but registration in advance is required.
