On March 11, the Korean Cultural Center in Brazil kicked off classes for the first semester of the K-Pop Academy. A total of 45 classes will be taught to 78 students, covering a total of 128 training sessions throughout this semester.

The K-Pop course for 2024 has undergone several significant changes. The number of classes has increased to 250 in total, representing a 67% growth compared to the previous year. Additionally, some students (choreographers specialized in other genres) who have received K-Pop training at the Center for a long time have been hired as instructors.

K-Pop dance classes are in high demand in Brazil, but there is a shortage of instructors. The initiative of the Korean Cultural Center to hire students as instructors is encouraging for those involved in K-Pop cover activities and is expected to have a positive impact on the balance between teacher supply and demand in the future.

Furthermore, the center has provided support for extracurricular K-Pop education at The British College of Brazil, becoming the first Korean Cultural Center overseas to partner with an international school in the country where it is located.

Director Kim Cheol-hong said, "The course offers young Brazilians, with a keen interest in K-Pop, the opportunity to learn directly and contribute to the promotion of K-Pop culture". He also mentioned, "Brazilians who love K-Pop will continue to do so through the K-Pop Academy. We plan to maintain continuous and interactive communication with the youth", he concludes.
