Events at KCCs abroad


On May 19th, the Korean Cultural Center in Brazil took part in the "Virada Cultural do Pertencimento 2024," an event promoted by the Sao Paulo Municipal Secretary of Culture, with two special presentations on Avenida Paulista to promote the rich Korean culture.

The winning group of the 11th Edition of the K-POP Festival, named "Chimera", was warmly received by the audience in front of the Korean Cultural Center building, where they performed the songs "Killin Me Good" by South Korean singer Jihyo, a member of the group TWICE, "Drama" by the South Korean group AESPA, and, finally, the most popular song of the moment, "Magnetic" by the South Korean group Illit.

Next, it was the turn of the Taekwondo student's group alongside Master Lim Yun Cheol to present the Korean martial art. With the tatami set up, they showcased a sequential set of typical martial art movements and combined striking techniques with K-POP choreographies. The audience cheered even more with the sequence of board breaking with kicks, punches, and aerial jumps. "We will consult the Sao Paulo Municipal Secretary of Culture so that we can participate on an even bigger stage next year," says Director Cheul Hong Kim.
