Events at KCCs abroad

On May 23, 2024, the Korean Cultural Center in Thailand held the "Korean Culture Day" event at the Royal Police Cadet Academy in Nakhon Pathom. The event was attended by 500 police cadets and aimed to provide an experience and understanding of Korean culture. The Korean Cultural Center has been teaching Korean language at the Royal Police Cadet Academy since 2022 and began teaching Taekwondo in 2023.

The event began with a Gilnori performance by Korean folk music expert Jeon Minji and students from the Korean Cultural Center. Following this, the Commander of the Royal Police Cadet Academy, Pol. Lt. Gen. Zenith Samransamruadkit, made a welcoming speech and expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador and the Korean Cultural Center for providing the students with an opportunity to deeply understand Korean culture. His Excellency Mr. Park Yong-min, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, was also present at the event and donated Korean meal kit sets from the Korean Cultural Center to the Royal Police Cadet Academy.

Later, there was a movie discussion and Q&A session on various topics with Cadet Prawanwit Champithong, in his 3rd year, and Cadet Nanthawat Jai-kiang, in his 4th year. The Ambassador expressed his hope that this Q&A event would help students broaden their vision and continue to grow as excellent public defenders at the international level in the future.

Lastly, the Korean Cultural Center prepared various cultural activities to allow all the students to experience Korean culture up close. These included traditional games such as Ttakji, Jegi, Tuho, Gulleongsoe, and the opportunity to try on the Korean traditional outfit, Hanbok. There was also a selection of well-known Korean food, such as fried chicken and Busan fishcakes, for everyone to taste. Many students recalled good memories from their travels to Korea while eating the food and thanked the staff from the Korean Cultural Center for organizing the event.

The Korean Cultural Center hopes that those who attended the event will have gained a deeper understanding of Korean culture and will have had a memorable experience.
