The Gourmet Festival was organized between 24 and 26 May at Millenáris, Budapest. The festival is the most intelligent, professional and expert culinary and wine event in the Hungarian gastronomic scene. With the theme of 2024 ‘Female Energies’, the organizers wanted to show the outstanding female chefs, pastry chefs, bakers and manufacturers who are taking an increasingly visible role in the traditionally male-dominated world of hospitality.
The Korean Cultural Center in Hungary cooperated with the Gourmet Festival in order to introduce and promote Korean food to the audience of this prestigious event. Participants of the Gourmet Festival could get to know Korean cuisine at Chef Kim Taeyeon's workshop on 25 May. Participants were able to taste the sauces that form the basis of Korean cuisine and then learned how to prepare the iconic Korean dish ‘Bibimbap’ made with a variety of seasonal vegetables and meats.
