Calling all food lovers! Join us at the 2024 Korean Cooking Contest in Australia to showcase your culinary creativity with Korean ingredients. This year’s theme is ‘Seafood and Korean Flavour’. Don’t miss your chance to shine and connect with fellow food enthusiasts at this thrilling event!

COMPETITION PROCESS: The competition includes an online preliminary round followed by an offline final round at Sydney Seafood School from 6-9 PM (AEST) on Friday, September 6, 2024.

THEME: The theme of this year is ‘Seafood and Korean Flavour’. Create a dish using at least one seafood ingredient and one of these Korean ingredients: Gochujang 고추장, Doenjang 된장, or Kimchi 김치.

ELIGIBILITY & TEAM COMPOSITION: Open to Korean food enthusiasts of non-Korean heritage across Australia, with specific eligibility details available in the guidelines. Each team consists of two individuals.

PRIZES: 1st Place: AUD 1,000 / 2nd Place: AUD 700 / 3rd Place: AUD 300 / All Finalists: Special surprise on the day of the final round.

This competition is co-organised by the Korean Cultural Centre Australia, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Korea Food Promotion Institution. The Korean Cultural Centre Australia reserves the right to make final decisions on matters not explicitly covered in the guidelines.
