The Korean Cultural Center in Brazil, with the support of the Taekwondo Promotion Foundation, is conducting extracurricular Taekwondo classes at the Profª Heliana Mafra M. de Castro Municipal School in Mogi das Cruzes.
On June 5th, a uniform (dobok) delivery ceremony and a Taekwondo workshop were held under the guidance of Master Lim Yun Cheol. The extracurricular classes take place every Monday and Wednesday for 50 elementary students aged 8 to 11 at the school.
On this day, the students wore doboks sponsored by the Taekwondo Promotion Foundation for the first time and approached the teachings with great seriousness.
After the classes, a local seminar for Taekwondo instructors was conducted. The seminar focused on standardized Taekwondo education, including basic movements, forms, sparring, and self-defense techniques, aiming to enhance the teaching abilities of local instructors who will teach Taekwondo in local schools.
This event has established an important foundation for the globalization of Taekwondo and the improvement of local instructors' capabilities. Furthermore, future expectations include significant contributions to the activation of Taekwondo in Brazil.
