Promoting the Korean Cultural Center's Book Club

On July 17th, the Korean Cultural Center in Brazil held another edition of its Book Club. The chosen book this time was 'Pachinko' (2017) by Min Jin Lee, highlighted among the '100 Best Books of the Century' by the New York Times.

Luara França, recognized for her editorial work and extensive experience in moderating literary discussions, led the meeting. Discussions explored themes such as immigration, identity, and family.

Participants had the opportunity to analyze various cultural perspectives on immigrant reception in other countries, share personal stories, and watch the trailer of the eponymous series available on Apple TV+, comparing it with the book.

The goal of CCCB's Book Club extends beyond promoting Korean literature. It also aims to foster intercultural dialogue and provide an enriching experience for literature enthusiasts. The meetings are open to the public, free, and do not require prior knowledge of Korean culture or literature to participate.
