Korean Cultural Center Turkiye successfully hosted the Korean-Turkish Friendship Concert ‘K-Jazz: Sori Quartet’ performance. The Sori Quartet, composed of four Europe-based artists – vocalist Jeon Songlee, daegeum player Kim Hyerim, pianist Lee Jihye, and drummer Hong Sunmi – introduced the unique Korean 'sori' to local fans.







With the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, successfully held the 'K-Jazz: Sori Quartet' concert on July 10th (Wednesday) at the CSO Ada Bankkart Mavi Salon in Ankara.


The Sori Quartet is a project group composed of four female musicians who are successfully active in Europe: vocalist Jeon Songlee (Switzerland-Germany), daegeum player Kim Hyerim (UK), pianist Lee Jihye (Germany), and drummer Hong Sunmi (Netherlands). During the concert, they showcased various original compositions by each member, as well as pieces like Jeongseon Arirang and Seomjip Aegi, blending traditional beauty with a modern sensibility, which garnered significant interest and acclaim from the local audience.









Particularly, the performance received great applause for its unique atmosphere, with the drums maintaining a jazz rhythm, the daegeum and vocals harmonizing with traditional techniques and tones, and the piano playing in a classical style.
