The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles presents the exhibition “Minhwa: The Elegance of Korean Folk Paintings” running from Thursday, Aug. 8, through Thursday, Aug. 22, in the center’s Art Gallery.
The exhibition is presented in collaboration with the Minhwa Department at Dongduk Women’s University and the Korean Folk Art Association Los Angeles. “Minhwa: The Elegance of Korean Folk Paintings” is the second in a series of traditional Korean art showcases to promote traditional Korean arts beyond popular culture. It highlights the value of Korean folk painting and shares the spirit and beauty of traditional arts with new audiences.
“We anticipate this exhibition will provide a valuable opportunity to appreciate the diverse works of 45 artists active in both Korea and the United States,” KCCLA director Sangwon Jung said.
An opening reception will be held on Aug. 8 from 6-8 p.m. at KCCLA, 5505 Wilshire Blvd. For information, visit kccla.org.
