On March 22, 2024, Consul General Euy Whan Kim visited the Manufacturing Futures Initiative (MFI) at Mill 19 in Pittsburgh, where he met with Director Sandra DeVincent Wolf for a briefing and toured the facility. Mill 19, once a steel mill, has been transformed into a research center aimed at integrating manufacturing with advanced technology, housing Carnegie Mellon University's MFI and other collaborating research institutions.

Following Director Wolf's briefing, Consul General Kim explored ways to strengthen collaboration between research institutions in both countries on manufacturing innovation. They also discussed the potential for Korean companies to participate in these innovative endeavors.
