Events at KCCs abroad

Korean Cultural Center Turkiye, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkiye, held a K-pop Festival from August 22 to August 24 in Ankara, the capital of Turkiye, in conjunction with the 'Cultural Street Festival,' the largest festival in the region.

During the festival, a variety of events took place, including the filming of promotional reels for both countries, a dance academy, a K-pop cover dance competition, and a K-pop concert by THE KINGDOM.

Additionally, THE KINGDOM, one of the artists participating in the festival, visited major landmarks in Ankara and the Korean Cultural Center on August 22 to film promotional reels for Korea and Turkiye. That evening, they hosted a dance academy for Hallyu (Korean Wave) fans, creating an opportunity for interaction between the artists and fans.

The 5th annual K-pop Cover Dance Festival was held on August 24 at the Ata Sahne venue, serving as a platform for communication and shared experiences with Hallyu fans who love K-pop. Out of 150 teams from across Turkiye who applied, 15 teams were invited after passing online evaluations. The competition was fiercely contested, with the participants performing at such a high level that it was difficult to determine the winners. The judging panel included 10 members, led by Korean Cultural Center Director Jeon Seungchul and THE KINGDOM.

THE KINGDOM showcased a variety of performances, ranging from "Danseongga," a crossover pop ballad with lyrics partially borrowed from the traditional folk song "Sae-ya Sae-ya Parangsae-ya," to powerful performances like "Coup d'État" and "White Night." As a special event for their Turkish fans, they covered the song "Yalan" by the famous local singer Edis, leaving Hallyu fans deeply moved and highly satisfied.
