The Korean Cultural Center in Hungary will present its new temporary exhibition titled ‘The Hours by Hands: Korean Artist, Kim Su Yeon's Dancheong’ from 6 September. The exhibition is a full-scale exhibition about ‘dancheong’ as a traditional Korean architectural coloring art through the work of Kim Su Yeon, who has lived her life as a ‘dancheong’ technician and craftswoman.

The artist applies traditional Korean architectural decoration to a variety of surfaces, from utilitarian objects to natural materials. In addition to Kim Su Yeon's unique world, the exhibition also aims to showcase the art of the ’dancheong’. Korean traditional ‘dancheong’ is basically the application of patterns and colors on wooden buildings. Also referred to as the "majestic finish of old architecture", ‘danchang’ is used not only to preserve traditional buildings, but also to decorate them to evoke ancient myths.

The exhibition is free of charge, and can be visited from 6 September to 29 November on the first floor exhibition area of the Korean Cultural Center in Hungary.
