The Korean Film Weekend during the Asian Film Festival was a success this year. Alongside our partner Asian Film Festival team, we focused on showcasing the work of actor Park Hae-il, a key figure in Korean contemporary film. 

This year's program featured four of Park Hae-il's most famous and popular films, all of which were screened for the first time in Sweden. The films included WAR OF THE ARROWS (2011) directed by KIM Han-min, A MUSE (2012) by JUNG Ji-woo, HEAVEN: TO THE LAND OF HAPPINESS (2021) by IM Sang-soo, and HANSAN: RISING DRAGON (2022) by KIM Han-min. In addition to these films, we also presented two recently released films that showcase the dynamic and creative nature of contemporary Korean cinema: 12:12 THE DAY (2023) by KIM Sung-su and CITIZEN OF A KIND (2024) by PARK Young-ju.
