Successful Completion of SPFL-K Cebu & Davao Language and Culture Workshop

The Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines (KCC) proudly concluded its SPFL-K (Special Program in Foreign Language-Korean) Regional Language and Culture Workshop, held from September 9-13, 2024, in Cebu and Davao.

The five-day event was a major step forward in promoting the Korean language and culture across Philippine schools, further enhancing the educational cooperation between the two nations.

The workshops, conducted at Abellana National High School in Cebu and Francisco Bustamante National High School in Davao, gathered over 160 students and teachers. Korean Language Expert Hong Jieun, and Traditional Art Expert Yoon Dong Hyun, conducted the respective classes which provided both linguistic training and cultural immersion to attendees.

The SPFL-K initiative continues to build cultural bridges, supporting the Department of Education’s efforts to include the Korean language in the curriculum and equipping Filipino students with valuable skills for global communication.

Looking ahead, KCC is committed to expanding the reach of SPFL-K workshops across more regions of the Philippines.
