The Korean Cultural Center in Hungary will present the performances of Liquid Sound titled LONG: Yeonhee Project I. in late September.
Founded in 2015, Liquid Sound brings together performers from different backgrounds - dancers, circus artists, musicians - who reinterpret their country's traditions with a contemporary sensibility. LONG: Yeonhee Project I is a journey through Korean culture, a stunning modern blend of theater, circus, traditional dance and percussion.
Performers and dancers will be accompanied by folk percussion instruments as they dance on stage and reimagine traditional elements of street theater. The audience is seated on either side of the stage, so everyone can admire at close quarters how the boundaries between tradition and modernity, performance and dance, are blurred.
The company will perform on 27 September at the National Dance Theatre in Budapest and on 29 September at the XIII Eger Studio Theatre Dance Festival.
