Events at KCCs abroad

On September 20th, the Koreanskt Kulturcenter (the Korean Cultural Center in Sweden) and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Sweden hosted the "COSMOS Ensemble SINAWI with Kim Duk Soo Concert" at Musikaliska Kvarteret to celebrate South Korea's national foundation day.

It was meaningful to host such an event at Musikaliska Kvarteret, the first concert hall in Sweden. The ceremony began with the national anthems of both countries, followed by congratulatory remarks by Ambassador Hyung Jong Lee and the Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, Benjamin Dousa.

Ensemble SINAWI, founded in 2007, is a fusion band that has been reinterpreting a traditional form of improvisational music, 'Sinawi.' Together with Kim Duk Soo, a renowned master of Korea's traditional percussion instruments, their performance was a masterpiece that consisted of modern interpretations of traditional music genres such as sanjo (solo instrumental music), gut (shamanistic ritual), and pansori (traditional form of lyrical storytelling).

Thank you very much for celebrating the national day with us.
