The Korean Cultural Center in Los Angeles successfully held the Korean original musical ‘Frida: The Last Night Show’ at the USC Bing Theatre on September 6.
This performance was co-hosted by the KCCLA and the USC School of Dramatic Arts at the invitation of USC Vision and Voices, an arts and humanities program at USC.
Four musical actors, So-hyang Kim, Soo-mi Jeon, Sun-young Park, and Si-in Park, captivated the local audience with their energetic and passionate performances of the last days of artist Frida Kahlo. Following the performance, a conversation with the audience was held with director Chu-hwa Choo, producer Ji-won Kim, actress So-hyang Kim, and USC faculty.
Director Sang-won Jung said, “I am glad that this was an opportunity to introduce the outstanding K-musical with outstanding artistry and acting skills to the US. Following K-pop and K-movie, Korea’s original musicals will soon be known in the global market.”
