Korean Cultural Center in Turkiye held the "14th International Makhai Silk Road Symposium Exhibition" from September 30 (Monday) to October 11 (Friday) in its exhibition hall.

The exhibition featured 28 ceramic works, including traditional Korean Makhai bowls, collaboratively displayed by the Korean Cultural Center in Turkey and the Department of Ceramics at Hacettepe University.

The Korean Cultural Center, in collaboration with the Department of Ceramics at Hacettepe University, co-hosted the 14th International Makhai Silk Road Symposium. They invited 19 artists from five countries, including South Korea, to promote and create traditional Korean Makhai bowls. This international Makhai Silk Road initiative was initiated by Professor Kim Yong-moon, a master of Makhai pottery from Hacettepe University.

At the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Professor Nadire Şule Atılgan, Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Hacettepe University, remarked, “The beauty of Makhai bowls has become renowned not only in Korea but also here in Ankara, Turkiye.” She continued, “Though they are newly crafted vessels, the charm of their naturalness is evident. Just as life cannot be fully expressed or defined, the freedom within it is similarly reflected in these bowls.”
