Events at KCCs abroad

On January 20, 2025, two young Taekwondo instructors arrived in Brazil as part of the Taekwondo Promotion Foundation’s volunteer project, with support from the Korean Cultural Center in Brazil.

Masters Jonathan (26 years old, 5th dan black belt) and Hong Soon Kim (26 years old, 5th dan black belt), students at Baekseok University, were sent to CCCB with the goal of gaining experience in teaching Taekwondo abroad.

Alongside Master Yun Cheol Lim, who was sent by Kukkiwon (World Taekwondo Headquarters), they are engaging in various activities, including internal training courses at CCCB, coaching the Brazilian national Taekwondo team, and supporting the Taekwondo Federation. They also teach Taekwondo to children in social welfare programs and lead seminars for Brazilian instructors who already practice the South Korean martial art. One of their main objectives is to introduce the latest Taekwondo techniques from Korea to Brazil.

Cheul Hong Kim, director of Korean Cultural Center in Brazil, stated "Master Lim’s international experience will be essential in supporting these instructors. Sharing his expertise in teaching foreigners will be the key to this project. I hope that young Taekwondo practitioners continue to expand globally, promoting the outstanding qualities of this South Korean sport."
