1. Goal: As a public diplomacy project, to raise non-Korean’s awareness regarding Korea.
2. Eligibility
• Korean or English speaking individuals.
• Individual and his/her immediate families are not of Korean nationality or ethnicity. (Excluding overseas Koreans and immediate family members who are Koreans who reside overseas)
• Individuals must be available to visit Korea during the final round which will take place from 8/20 until 8/31.
• No age or gender requirements.
3. Selection Process
• One person from the United States will be selected for the final which will take place in Korea. (a total of 25 individuals from 25 different countries)
4. LA District Preliminary Prizes
• 1st Place: A ticket to the second round AND iPad
• 2nd Place: Korean restaurant coupon. (LA based, $300 value)
• 3rd Place: Korean restaurant coupon. (LA based, $200 value)
5. U.S.A Preliminary(second round) Prize
• The final qualifier from the U.S. will receive round-trip airfare and accommodations for the duration of the filming period in Korea during the final round.
(*There will be a separate prize for the final winner announced at a later time.)
6. Itinerary
June 20 Registration deadline.
June 28 First round of quizzes and selection of regional finals qualifier.
July One contestant selected from each region in the U.S will be recommended for the second round to the Korean Embassy.
July Second qualifying online round will be held at the Korean Embassy in Washington D.C. through Google video call service.
September 5 The leading scorer will visit Korea to participate in the final round. Final round. (KBS Station)
