The Korean Cultural Center in Brazil announces the Live Jazz Show performance featuring the Martin Pizzarelli Trio on May 3rd at 4:00 PM, at its headquarters on Paulista Avenue. The performance will be free and will have 50 available spots. It will also be live-streamed on the institution’s YouTube channel. The trio is composed of Martin Pizzarelli, Hyuna Park and Ricardo Baldacci.
Entertainment is the keyword for iconic bassist Martin Pizzarelli, son and brother of jazz legends Bucky and John Pizzarelli, with whom he has extensively performed. Martin celebrates the joy of music by revisiting classics with fresh arrangements, paying homage to icons such as Benny Goodman and Tom Jobim. He also explores the universe of pop with unexpected performances.
By his side is South Korean pianist Hyuna Park, one of the most sought-after musicians on New York’s scene, whose vibrant presence leaves audiences in awe. Completing the trio, Brazilian singer and guitarist Ricardo Baldacci brings influences ranging from Freddie Green and Nat King Cole to a contemporary perspective.
The group’s latest album is inspired by the immersive blend of swing, jazz, pop and bossa nova showcased in S Wonderful, and promises to please both traditional jazz fans and lovers of captivating, well-interpreted melodies.
The trio will delight the audience with seductive renditions of classics such as S Wonderful, Jitterbug Waltz and Stompin’ at the Savoy, in an evening that promises to be unforgettable.
Lastly, as a special presentation, there will be a Gayageum Byeongchang performance by Yang So-eui, bringing a fresh and unprecedented combination of jazz and traditional Korean music.

Martin Pizzarelli
Martin Pizzarelli, a renowned bassist from the famous New Jersey jazz family, has built a n impressive career in the world of jazz over several decades. Born into a family of musicians, Martin is the son of legendary seven-string swing guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli and the brother of acclaimed guitarist John Pizzarelli. He began his musical journey on electric bass during his teenage years before transitioning to the acoustic double bass, following a suggestion from his brother John.
Throughout his career, Martin has been celebrated for his swinging style and is considered a true “guardian of tradition” within the jazz community. He has performed in various ensembles on stages around the world, contributing to dozens of recordings. Among his most notable collaborations are his frequent performances with his father, Bucky Pizzarelli, and his extensive work with his brother John in the John Pizzarelli Trio, alongside pianists such as Ray Kennedy and Larry Fuller.
In 1994, Martin made his debut as a band leader with the album “Triple Play” released by Victoria Records, featuring artists like Ray Kennedy and his father, Bucky. His versatile career also includes collaboration with artists such as Harry Allen and participation in groups like the Pizzarelli Boys and the John Pizzarelli Quartet. Martin’s dedication and mastery of the double bass have established him as one of the most respected bassists in contemporary jazz.
Hyuna Park
Hyuna Park
Hyuna Park’s musical universe is deeply rooted in the vibrant tradition of New York jazz, while still embracing her Korean heritage and classic origins.
She has already performed with Grammy Award winners such as Luis Bonilla and Vincent Herring. In 2018, she formed a trio – an unconventional band that incorporates diverse styles and musical elements into her core jazz repertoire. Hyuna and her band are regular performers at New York jazz venues, such as Birdland, Joe’s Pub, and Mezzrow, and they have already toured in Korea, Japan and Switzerland.
Rico Baldacci
Rico Baldacci
Rico Baldacci is a Brazilian singer and guitarist known for his swing jazz performances. With his drumless trio, inspired by Nat King Cole and John Pizzarelli, he brings new life to the American Songbook and to Bossa Nova.
Baldacci has performed at festivals around the world, including the Made In New York Jazz Festival and the CCPA Jazz Festival. He has already toured with Martin Pizzarelli and has released albums like “Spot on Swing” and “Brothers in Swing”, celebrating Pizzarelli family’s legacy.
His project “Foxtrot in Brazilian Music” highlights the fusion between Brazilian music and jazz. Through collaborations with legends such as Howard Alden, Baldacci keeps captivating the audience with his elegant and vivid performances.

Soeui Yang
Having graduated in Korean Traditional Music with a specialization in Gayageum Byeongchang fromYongin University, Soeui Yang was an active member of the Gangdong District Arts Group, from 2013 to 2016, providing classes and doing Gayageum Byeongchang and Pansori performances.
She has received several awards in the field of Korean traditional music, including the Excellence Award in the instruments category at the 2000 Korean Traditional Music National Contest. Soeui was also honored with a Merit Award in 1995 and won an award in the Gayageum Byeongchang category at the 2001 Jeonju National Students Contest.
Today, Soeui Yang gives Gayageum Byeongchang lectures in the Korean Cultural Center in Brazil, located in Sao Paulo, dedicating herself to the propagation of Korean traditional music in the country. Through her lectures and performances, she actively promotes the beauty of Korean music with Brazilian audiences.
