Culinary event with Buddhist nun Jeong Kwan and chef Fabri

On Monday, May 19, and Tuesday, May 20, the Korean Cultural Center in Italy had the honor of hosting Buddhist nun Jeong Kwan and chef Fabrizio Ferrari(aka Fabri) at the Garum Culinary Museum in Rome, in celebration of the Year of Cultural Exchange between Korea and Italy 2024–2025.

The nun and the chef, now renowned ambassadors of Korean cuisine around the world, led two masterclass sessions for local chefs focused respectively on temple cuisine—centered on fermentation—and Korean culinary culture, followed by a tasting of one of the most iconic Korean dishes: Bibimbap.

The series of masterclasses concluded with a gala dinner, during which nun Jeong Kwan and chef Fabri delighted all participants with their most symbolic dishes, along with a few new reinterpretations.
