Events at KCCs abroad

On May 17th, 2025, the Korean Cultural Center in Sweden (Koreanskt Kulturcenter, KKC) hosted the 2025 King Sejong Institute Korean Speech Contest, co-organized with the King Sejong Institute in Gothenburg. The event brought together 21 Korean language learners from across Sweden.

Participants delivered speeches on the topics “My favorite Korean expression and why” and “The most memorable class at King Sejong Institute.” Each speech was unique—some touching, others humorous—and reflected the speakers’ dedication and creativity in learning Korean.

Learners from Stockholm and other cities, including Gothenburg, joined the event, making it a meaningful gathering of Korean language enthusiasts from near and far. We thank all participants for their enthusiasm and effort.

The program also featured a fun K-pop quiz, a talk by last year’s winner about her cultural experience in Korea, an award ceremony, and a Korean food experience. These activities added energy and warmth to the day, bringing everyone together.

More than just a contest, the event became a space for shared encouragement and inspiration. We look forward to hearing more great stories at next year’s contest.
