Promotional Poster for the 14th Korean Film Festival in Brazil. The festival will start on June 12th and end on June 19th, 2025. Movies will be exhibited on REAG Belas Artes (Consolação Street, 2423)
From June 12 to 19, the Korean Cultural Center in Brazil will host the 14th Korean Film Festival in Brazil. Co-organized with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea and supported by Pandora Filmes, the Belas Artes Group, and the Korean Film Council (KOFIC), the festival will take place at REAG Belas Artes, featuring a lineup of 22 films, including 15 feature films and 7 short films.
Curated by renowned South Korean film critic Oh Dong-jin, part of this year’s selection commemorates Korea’s liberation from Japanese colonial rule, which will mark its 80th anniversary in 2025. The lineup also includes films premiering in Brazil, showcasing a diverse portrait of contemporary Korean cinema. In addition, the festival will feature opportunities for the Brazilian audience to interact with some of the voices from this new generation of filmmakers.
“Brazil and Korea share a profound artistic sensibility, which makes this dialogue through cinema all the more enriching. Promoting this exchange is a key part of the mission of the Korean Cultural Center in Brazil, which aims to bring Brazilians closer to the stories, values, and contemporary expressions of our culture. It’s a joy to see these connections deepen with each edition of the festival,” remarked Cheul Hong Kim, Director of the Korean Cultural Center in Brazil.
