Between 4 and 6 June, the Budapest edition of the Night of Literature offered audiences a unique journey through world literature, with actors and actresses reading excerpts from works by 26 authors representing 26 countries. Over three evenings, the readings unfolded in unconventional venues throughout the Margaret Quarter of Budapest II. District, adding a distinctive atmosphere to the cultural experience.
The Korean program was selected by the Korean Cultural Center in Hungary, offering an insight into the healing fiction. On 6 June, at the Grinta Bike & Café, Lilla Barna — an actress of the Jurányi Art Incubator House — read an excerpt from Welcome to the Hyunam-dong Bookshop, a best-selling novel by Hwang Boreum. The reading attracted 359 attendees, reflecting strong local interest in and enthusiasm for Korean literature and culture.
