On June 6, the contemporary dance performance NEUROLINK, created by Grupo ExPressão, premiered at Sala Paissandu in São Paulo’s Centro Cultural Olido. The free show presented the audience with a bold, immersive experience exploring the relationship between the human mind and technology.

NEUROLINK is supported by the Korean Cultural Center in Brazil and by the Secretary of Culture, Creative Economy, and Industry of the State of São Paulo, through the public grant program Fomento CultSP – ProAC No. 23/2024.

Divided into two acts, the performance is choreographed by acclaimed South Korean artist Jae Duk Kim and Brazilian choreographer Maykol Cruz. Through projections, real-time interactivity, and cutting-edge technology, NEUROLINK visually translates neural connections and the complex coexistence of humans and machines.

Performed by Gabriela Scaglia and Maykol Cruz, the piece merges the human body with technology, reflecting the emotional and existential dilemmas of the digital age. Set and lighting design by Marcelo Zamora add to the sensory, thought-provoking atmosphere of the show.

The premiere marks the beginning of a tour that will visit ten cities across the state of São Paulo throughout 2025. The performance aims to challenge audiences to rethink the role of technology in their lives while expanding the boundaries of contemporary artistic expression.

The project brings together the artistic journeys of Jae Duk Kim—Artistic Director of Modern Table Dance Company and Resident Choreographer at T.H.E Dance Company in Singapore—and Maykol Cruz, founder of Grupo ExPressão, whose career spans China and multiple artistic collaborations across Latin America and Europe.

With NEUROLINK, the artists offer a powerful sensory experience that invites reflection, underscoring the role of art as a bridge between tradition and innovation.
