Events at KCCs abroad

On June 5, Ms. Sunju Lee, the Director of the Korean Cultural Center in Thailand, participated as a judge for the 2025 HANSIK CONTEST IN THAILAND. This event was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Thailand to celebrate World Environment Day.

Approximately 100 teams applied for the competition themed ‘K-Sauce Crossover Challenge: Thai Twist & Zero Waste.’ After intense preliminary rounds, 12 teams advanced to the finals.

Individuals from diverse professions such as restaurant owners, college students, bartenders, and office workers participated in this competition, attracting attention. They presented innovative dishes like Tom Yum Fried Rice and Gochujang Pad Thai, featuring Thai ingredients flown in from various regions and Korean sauces.

Ms. Sunju Lee stated, "While Korean sauce is a complex and challenging ingredient, I could truly feel the participants' passion for Korean cuisine as I observed their best efforts in cooking."

The competition winner will be invited to the 2025 Namdo International Gastronomy Industry Expo, scheduled for October 4th, in Korea.

We sincerely hope that Korean food becomes more widely known and alsoeveryone will be interested in the Korean cooking classes held at the Korean Cultural Center starting in July.
