Events at KCCs abroad

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Turkiye successfully held a "History Seminar on Korea’s Development" on Friday, June 13, at Tevfik Fikret High School in Ankara.

The event was organized to introduce the progress Korea has made in various fields such as history, culture, and economy to local educators and students, and to further strengthen the foundation for educational and cultural exchange between the two countries.

The event drew significant attention, with over 400 participants including middle and high school teachers, students, and officials from the Ministry of Education. In particular, the event was made more meaningful by a special lecture delivered by Ambassador Jeong Yeondoo, who spoke in person on the topic of Korea’s development.

Following the seminar, a Korean cultural experience program themed around the globally popular Netflix series Squid Game was held, receiving an enthusiastic response from the participants. The experience booths featured traditional Korean games and a photo zone where visitors could see and interact with Korean-themed props. All participants were also treated to Korean snacks, creating a comprehensive cultural experience where they could "see, hear, and taste" Korea.

Ambassador Jeong Yeondoo stated, “This seminar was more than just a means of sharing information—it served as a valuable opportunity for Turkish educators and students to feel a closer connection to Korea.” He added, “Going forward, we will work in close cooperation with the Turkish Ministry of Education to ensure that Korea’s development is more broadly reflected in local textbooks.”
