Media façade screening on the Colosseum
On Thursday, June 26th, as part of the Korea-Italy Cultural Exchange Year 2024–2025, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea, the Korean Cultural Center in Italy, and the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange(KOFICE), in collaboration with the City of Rome and the Archaeological Park of the Colosseum, held the first-ever Korean media façade screening on the Colosseum’s wall.
For this cultural exchange project focused on multimedia art, several Korean and Italian artists took part, including the renowned Korean artist Lee Lee-nam, the Italian artist collective Squatters Lab led by Andrea Bucci, Italian artist Vincenzo Marsiglia, and Korea Round — a team of three young artists from both countries represented by Mattia Casalegno.
The screening on the Colosseum of traditional Korean images, patterns, and colors blended with Italian artistic elements created a unique and emotional experience, deepening the cultural exchange and friendship between Korea and Italy.
