Teaming up with the Korea Tourism Organization, the Korean Cultural Centre Australia invites you for a special night to embark on a culinary journey through Korea’s gastronomic heartland.


This event will take you through Korea’s Jeolla region — renowned for its rich flavours and food-focused hospitality. Jeolla Province, known as the heartland of Korean cuisine, offers some of the nation’s most iconic dishes. Discover why Jeolla stands out as a compelling destination for culinary tourism, bringing together regional tastes, cultural stories, and travel inspiration in one delicious event.


Join us for an immersive experience featuring insights into Korea’s culinary geography, engaging conversations with culture and travel experts, and a live cooking demonstration!

🍲 Presentation: Discover why Jeolla stands out as a compelling destination for culinary tourism

Dive into the rich and diverse flavours of Korea’s Jeolla region, renowned as the gastronomic heartland of Korea. Led by Kellie Goggins, the Marketing Manager at the Korea Tourism Organization Sydney Office, this session will draw from her recent experience leading a FAM (Familiarisation) tour through the region. Kellie will provide detailed insights into Jeolla’s food culture and explain why it stands out as a compelling destination for culinary tourism.


🎤 Food Talk: Flavours that Tell a Story

Join a lively talk with Korean-Australian Chef Heather Jeong and Sunmin Yoon, the Director at the Korean Cultural Centre Australia, moderated by Kellie Goggins, the Marketing Manager at the Korea Tourism Organization Sydney Office. They’ll share personal stories and insights into how Jeolla’s food traditions shape meaningful travel experiences, exploring questions like:

— Why is Jeolla considered Korea’s “foodie capital” and what sets it apart?

— What are some must-try dishes from Jeolla?

— For someone visiting Jeolla for the first time, what’s one essential food experience or dish to recommend?

Experience a live cooking demonstration inspired by Jeolla Province. You’ll get to sample the delicious dishes prepared on-site!
