The Korean Cultural Centre Nigeria (KCCN) celebrated the graduation of 60 Nigerian youths from its 2025 K-Pop Vocal and Dance Academy, held from June 23 to July 11. The program, designed to deepen cultural exchange through Korean pop music and performance, trained 37 dance students and 23 vocal students under expert guidance from Korean singer Kim Jun-gyeom and choreographer Lee Hwa-won (also known as Myula).
Participants not only learned to sing Korean songs and master foundational K-Pop choreography but also gained valuable insights into stage performance, vocal control, and fitness routines. Omi Samuel, a university student, was named Best Student of the 2025 K-Pop Academy for his vocal excellence and consistent attendance.
Students praised the training for building their self-confidence and musicality, while the instructors shared fond memories of cultural exchange and adaptation—especially teaching K-Pop in English and learning Afro dance from the Nigerian students.
