Important Guidelines
1) Applicants can choose two classes (first choice and second choice) in the Google Form, but will be admitted to ONLY ONE CLASS.
2) This semester lasts for 15 weeks. Class schedule will be sent to students who successfully enroll in the class in due course.
3) The application deadline is on AUG 18 (MON) at 13:00 HKT.
4) Attendees will be notified via email. We are sorry for being unable to notify all applicants.
5) Students may not change classes without the teacher’s approval.
6) Only applicants aged 18 or above are accepted. If a student is found to be under 18, KCCHK has the right to immediately request that the student withdraw and place them on blacklist.
7) Students who fail to maintain an attendance rate of at least 70% will not have priority to register for KCCHK's Korean language classes offered in the 2026 Winter & Spring Semester.
8) All classes are 100% OFFLINE and will be conducted in KCCHK's lecture room.
9) Courses are conducted in Korean unless otherwise specified. English or Mandarin may be used in introductory and elementary courses.
10) $1,000HKD deposit will be received on the first day of class and will be returned to participants who fulfilled 80% or above attendance at the end of the semester.
11) Attendees of <Sejong Korean 1> will be selected by random draw. As for other classes, applicants with relevant certificates (e.g. certificates issued by King Sejong Institute, KCCHK; valid TOPIK score report; other certificates issued by other institutions) will be admitted. If your TOPIK score report expires (valid for 2 years) and the certificate has been issued for more than 2 years, please take the online level test. If you have NO proof, please take the online level test. (Check out the guidelines below)
If no relevant proof is uploaded, the application will NOT be considered. *If you plan to register for Sejong Korean 1, you don't have to do online level test or upload any proof.
12) Due to copyright issues, students are not allowed to use any soft or hard copy of textbook during class.
Frequently-asked Questions
1) Q: Are the classes free of charge?
A: Yes, all classes are free of charge.
2) Q: What qualifies as proof?
A: Certificate issued by King Sejong Institute and KCCHK; valid TOPIK score report; certificates issued by other institutions within the last 2 years; and the online level test results.
3) Q: I have learned Korean before. Can I join the classes offered by KCCHK?
A: Sure，as long as you can provide proof (refer to Q2) . If you have no proof, please take the online level test.
4）Q: I have applied many times; why did I still fail?
A: Firstly, make sure that you meet the qualification. Application without proof will NOT be considered. If there are too many applicants with valid proof, attendees will be selected randomly.
【ONLINE LEVEL TEST】
- The purpose of this online test is to ensure that King Sejong Institute students are able to be placed in the correct Korean class that matches their Korean level.
- There is a Beginning and Intermediate test composed of listening and reading portions, respectively.
