Events at KCCs abroad

On September 27, the Korean Cultural Center in Türkiye successfully concluded the performance “KOREAN SOUND” by the National Orchestra of Korea. The event, held as part of the Touring K-Arts program, was supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (KOFICE).

The National Orchestra of Korea, a resident company of the National Theater of Korea, selected 11 performers through an internal audition from its 45 young training members to take part in the “KOREAN SOUND” performance. The program featured six pieces of traditional Korean and chamber music, including a specially arranged medley of Korean and Turkish folk songs dedicated to Hallyu fans in Türkiye.

At the “KOREAN SOUND” concert in Ankara, the audience was treated to the enchanting sounds of Korea through traditional instruments including the gayageum, daegeum, geomungo, piri, haegeum, and daeajaeng. The performance offered Turkish Hallyu fans a deeply moving and unique cultural experience.

The final program featured a medley of Korea’s Taepyeongga and the Turkish folk song Uzun İnce Bir Yoldayım, which likens the continuous journey of walking day and night to life.
