Filipinos reenter K-drama world with ‘OST symphony II: K-drama in concert’

FILIPINO audiences were, once again, swept into the world of K-drama with the return of “OST symphony II: K-drama in concert” at SM Aura in Taguig on October 25. During the complimentary two-show event, the country’s leading orchestra, the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, along with guest artists, engaged audiences with melodies from K-drama favorites such as “Lovely Runner,” “When Life Gives You Tangerines,” “Goblin,” “Descendants of the Sun,” “Crash Landing into You,” and even animated hit “K-pop Demon Hunters”.

Guest Korean artist Isaac Hong, who sang songs for the “When Life Gives You Tangerines” and “Queen of Tears” soundtracks, was part of the concert as was Choi Ye-geun or Yegny, who belted out tunes from “K-pop Demon Hunters” and “Itaewon Class.”

Local artists such as Kyline Alcantara and Angel Guardian also performed live. Alcantara sang “My Destiny” from the Philippine remake of the 2013 K-drama, “My Love from the Star.” Guardian, on the other hand, serenaded audiences with her performance of “Bagong Tadhana,” the theme song of GMA fantasy series “Encantadia chronicles: Sang’gre”.
