The Korean Cultural Center in Brazil announces the opening of applications for the Special Hangul Course (Korean Writing System), scheduled to begin and end in February 2026, will open on January 12 at 10:00 a.m. (Brasília time zone).

All relevant information regarding the course can be found below, including the rules, class schedules, and the application form link. Applicants are kindly requested to carefully review all information before submitting their application.


IMPORTANT: Students who successfully complete the Special Hangul Course will be given priority registration for Level 1 of the regular Korean language course for the first semester of 2026 at the King Sejong Institute (Sejong Hakdang) at The Korean Cultural Center in Brazil. Students must achieve 100% attendance throughout the course and obtain a minimum score of 60 points on the final test administered on the last day of class in order to secure this priority.


About the Course

● General Objectives: To prepare students in learning Hangul (Korean writing system) prior to the start of the first semester of the regular course.

● Registration period: January 12–19, 2026

● Registration method: Google Forms

o   The registration form will open on January 12 at 10:00 a.m. and close on January 19 at 11:59 p.m.

o   After submitting the form, applicants will receive a copy of their response by email. This does not mean the applicant has been selected. Selected participants will receive a confirmation email directly from the Korean Cultural Center in Brazil on January 20.

● Course duration: February 3–13, 2026 (total of 4 classes)

● Location: Korean Cultural Center in Brazil (Av. Paulista, 460, Bela Vista, São Paulo/SP)

● Slots: 16 students per class (8 classes total)

● Selection method: Order of registration

● Minimum age: 15 years old

● Course fee: Free

o   No materials are required for purchase.

● Results announcement: Individual email notification on January 20 for selected applicants.


About the Application

● Each applicant must use only one (1) email address to apply. If multiple email addresses or multiple submissions are identified, the application will be disqualified.

o   To request an email change, please contact the coordinator at kccnobrazil@gmail.com.

● Applicants must carefully select their desired class at the time of application. Class changes will not be accepted after submission.

● Registration is non-transferable. Selected applicants may not transfer their spot to another person.


About the Selection

● Applicants will be selected according to the order of submission and will receive a confirmation email on January 20, 2026.

● Only selected applicants will be notified.

● Those not selected will automatically be placed on the waiting list.

o   In case of withdrawals before classes start, candidates on the waiting list will be contacted according to registration order. After classes begin, no further call-ups from the waiting list will be made.


Course Rules

● Students who fail to reach 70% attendance and/or register but do not attend the first class will be dismissed from the course and will not be eligible to apply again for one year.

● Students who have failed three (3) or more times in previous semesters will not be eligible to apply again.

● To secure priority registration for Level 1 of the King Sejong Institute course, students must maintain 100% attendance and achieve a minimum score of 60 points on the final Hangul test administered in the last class. A minimum score of 60 points on the final Hangul test (last class) is required.

● Class A: Tuesday & Thursday, 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

● Class B: Tuesday & Thursday, 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

● Class C: Tuesday & Thursday, 3:00–5:00 p.m.

● Class D: Tuesday & Thursday, 3:00–5:00 p.m.

● Class E: Wednesday & Friday, 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

● Class F: Wednesday & Friday, 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

● Class G: Wednesday & Friday, 3:00–5:00 p.m.

● Class H: Wednesday & Friday, 3:00–5:00 p.m.
